WHO WE ARE

Farmers Union began in Point, Texas, in 1902, as a grassroots farm organization insisting on parity for their crops and a need for a fire and casualty company to protect the farmer’s investment of long hours of hard work.

In 1904, a chapter was formed in Nashville, Ark., and the Arkansas Farmers Union came into existence. Over a century later, Farmers Union is still a major voice speaking for Arkansas farmers and property owners.

WHAT WE DO

We advocate for the economic and social well-being of family farmers, ranchers, fishermen, consumers and communities, along with their quality of life, through education, cooperation and legislation – all tied to the sustainable production of food, fiber, feed and fuel.
