WHO WE ARE

Farmers Union began in Point, Texas, in 1902 as a grass-roots farm organization insisting on parity for their crops and a need for a fire and casualty company to protect the farmer’s investment of long hours of hard work.

In 1904 a chapter was formed in Nashville, Arkansas, and the Arkansas Farmers Union came into existence. Over a century later, Farmers Union is still a major voice speaking for Arkansas farmers and property owners.

WHAT WE DO

To advocate for the economic and social well-being, and quality of life of family farmers, ranchers, fishermen and consumers and their communities through education, cooperation and legislation. National Farmers Union advocates sustainable production of food, fiber, feed and fuel.
